DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Flag-to-flag television coverage of this year’s DAYTONA Flat Track event is set to hit the airwaves, highlighting the debut of SPEED SPORT television on MAVTV on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 8 p.m. EST (5 p.m. PST). The one-hour broadcast will feature highlights from Day 1, the three expert heat races, two expert semis and the 25-lap AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship main event.

The recently created media arm of SPEED SPORT has expertly repackaged the footage originally captured during the FansChoice.tv live streaming broadcasts from the DAYTONA Flat Track event, adding race commentary by Ralph Sheheen and “Mr. Daytona,” Scott Russell.

“We’re thankful to the folks at National Speed Sport News for giving the stars of AMA Pro Flat Track the opportunity to be showcased on MAVTV,” said Michael Gentry, Chief Operating Officer of AMA Pro Racing. “With the quality live streaming production delivered through FansChoice.tv and the broadcast distribution with SPEED SPORT on MAVTV, we’re working hard to deliver the excitement of AMA Pro Flat Track racing to the fans in as many ways as possible.”

In addition to this week’s debut episode, additional AMA Pro Flat Track races are planned to be included as part of the SPEED SPORT television series on MAVTV. As a bonus to the fans of defending Grand National Champion Brad Baker, the Superprestigio battle between Baker and defending MotoGP champion Marc Marquez will be aired next month.

“All of us here at SPEED SPORT are huge fans of AMA Pro Flat Track racing,” said Ralph Sheheen, President of National Speed Sport News and play-by-play voice of SPEED SPORT on MAVTV. “To have the opportunity to broadcast one of the most prestigious races of their tour, Daytona, kick off the premier episode of SPEED SPORT is a tremendous honor and gives us a great opportunity to expose Grand National Championship racing to a tremendous audience packed full of racing enthusiasts on MAVTV. And this is just the beginning; we’re looking forward to working with AMA Pro Racing to bring more AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship races this year to MAVTV through SPEED SPORT and SPEED SPORT Magazine on MAVTV.”
