MACEDON, N.Y. (Feb. 13) — Fresh off of a successful AMA Pro Superbike rookie season in 2013, Ohio native Ryan Kerr will take on a new challenge in 2014 aboard a Kyle Wyman Racing-prepared XR1200 in the AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series. Kerr will ride the #28 Harley-Davidson XR1200 with support from Best Book 1 and RFC.

“I always have thought highly of the AMA Pro Harley-Davidson series,” said Kerr, 22. “It is a very competitive class, and I knew that if I was going to have a realistic shot at a title I would have to be on top-notch equipment. Kyle has been riding and preparing XR1200 motorcycles since the class’ inception, and I couldn’t think of a better way to start off my year as a class rookie than to be riding for KWR.”

Kerr was unable to secure funding to continue racing in the AMA Pro Superbike series for 2014, but the Vance & Hines-supported Harley-Davidson series has opened doors for many riders to continue competition in AMA Pro Road Racing. The spec series will continue to keep costs to a minimum and competition to a maximum.

“I am really excited to be able to provide a program for Ryan this year,” said Kyle Wyman, owner of Kyle Wyman Racing. “He has shown some great potential in the past few seasons in both the SuperSport and Superbike classes, and this new opportunity on a KWR XR1200 will be a great next step for him. The class has been a big boost for my career, and I’m glad that another rider has recognized the value in competing in the AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series.”
