Kawasaki’s Roger Hayden will try to ride his factory ZX-6RR in Friday morning AMA Supersport practice at Infineon Raceway. “I’m going to give it a try, see if I’m strong enough,” Hayden told Roadracingworld.com Thursday in the paddock at Infineon Raceway. Hayden suffered a double fracture and dislocation of his right lower leg in a crash during the April 23 AMA Superbike race at Barber Motorsports Park. “I would like to race and finish in the top 10,” Hayden continued. “Winning the Supersport Championship isn’t really possible unless (current series point leader Jamie) Hacking has a bad race or a DNF or something, but it’s only the fourth race of the season and I’m not gonna give up yet. We’ll see what happens.” Hayden said the chance that he will actually race at Infineon Raceway is “a long shot” because his right foot is locked into one position by ligament damage and because the track is very physically demanding.
