A string of Daytona misfortune continues for Roadracingworld.com’s Chris Ulrich, who will not be able to race in AMA Superstock and the Daytona 200 as the result of a concussion suffered Sunday in a Formula USA race. Ulrich was collected by Heath Small’s racebike in turn one at the start of the F-USA Superbike race. Small’s bike flew into the air after Small highsided at the exit of the corner, the broad side of the tumbling Yamaha hitting the front of Ulrich’s bike at handlebar height. Ulrich suffered a concussion, and, after declining transport to Halifax Medical Center, was refered by Daytona International Speedway medical center staffers to neurologist James Scott, MD, PhD, of Ormond Beach. After a CT Scan on Tuesday, Dr. Scott diagnosed Ulrich as having residual vestibular dysfunction and recommended that Ulrich not ride motorcycles for at least three weeks.
