Pirelli and FGSport Group, promoters of the FIM Superbike World Championship, have renewed the deal making Pirelli the official control tire supplier for the 2007 season, according to Georgio Barbier, Pirelli World Motorcycle Road Racing Manager. “We started with a Championship that was completely at the bottom, and now it’s growing, it’s growing, it’s growing,” Barbier told Roadracingworld.com Saturday at Infineon Raceway. “We are happy. The promoter is happy. Things work, so let’s go ahead.” Barbier said the new deal was for the 2007 season only, unlike the original deal, which was for 2004-2005, with an option to extend the deal exercised for 2006.
