INSIDE MOTORCYCLES SPONSORS POLE POSITION AWARD TORONTO, ON Inside Motorcycles, Canada’s source for motorcycle news, has expanded its support of the Parts Canada Superbike Championship by sponsoring the pole position award in the headline Superbike class. The Inside Motorcycles Pole Position Award will go to the fastest Superbike qualifier at each round of this year’s Parts Canada Superbike Championship. The award winner will be presented with a cheque for $500 on the grid before the start of each race. Pole position also carries valuable points to the season-long Parts Canada Superbike Championship, with the fastest qualifier receiving four points. Second in qualifying is worth three points, third fastest gets two points and the fourth fastest qualifier picks up one point. The magazine will also continue its sponsorship of the year-end Team of the Year Award, which goes to the Superbike team judged to have performed the best in terms of bike preparation and technical excellence during the Parts Canada Superbike season. “We have been very proud supporters of the Parts Canada Superbike Championship for a decade now,” said David Weber, managing editor of Inside Motorcycles. “We are excited to strengthen our relationship with the series and to have our name associated with the Pole Position Award.” Inside Motorcycles is published by Toronto-based Inside Track Communications, Inc. and was launched in January, 1998. Inside Track has published the Canadian Superbike Championship’s official series program on 10 occasions, the first in 1997, and has been involved in a variety of other media and promotional projects with the series and its organizer Professional Motorsports Productions. “The Parts Canada Superbike Championship has had an excellent and long-standing relationship with Inside Motorcycles and Inside Track Communications,” said PMP’s Colin Fraser. “Our series program in 1997 was Inside Track’s first publishing venture, and we see sponsorship of the Pole Position Award as a natural fit. “The qualifying battle in the Superbike class traditionally provides a great deal of excitement and the Pole Position Award is highly-prized by our racers.” The battle for pole position in the Superbike class will take place during the 45-minute Saturday afternoon qualifying session, except at the doubleheader events at Calgary’s Race City Motorsport Park and Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, ON. On those two occasions, Friday afternoon qualifying sessions will set the grid for both the Saturday and Sunday Superbike races. At those events a second $500 Inside Motorcycles Pole Position Award will be given to the fastest qualifier in the Yoshimura Pro 600 Sport Bike national support class. The seven-round 2007 Parts Canada Superbike Championship opens this weekend at Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant and will conclude at Shannonville Motorsport Park on the Labour Day Weekend. Brantford, ON’s Jordan Szoke is the defending Parts Canada Superbike champion. Inside Motorcycles can be found on the web at www.insidemotorcycles.com. Inside Track Communications also publishes Inside Track Motorsport News and Inside MotoX (IMX).
