Miguel Galluzzi, Advanced Design Director, Piaggio Group to Speak at Pro Italia Los Angeles, CA – April 2, 2013 – Pro Italia, one of the foremost sport bike destination dealers in the country, and located in Glendale California, announced that its 2013 speaker series will start on Thursday, April 18th with a presentation and discussion of motorcycle design and direction by Miguel Galluzzi, creator of the original Ducati Monster, the Moto Guzzi V7 Racer and California 1400, the Aprilia RSV4 and many others. Miguel is now Advanced Design Director, Piaggio Group. The new California 1400 Touring and Custom will be unveiled and discussed by Miguel at this presentation. You’re probably familiar with Miguel Galluzzi’s work, even if you don’t recognize his name. Miguel created the original game changing Ducati Monster in 1992. He’s the Buenos Aires-born Italian designer and graduate of the Art Center of Pasadena who kick-started the entire “naked” bike category with his idea that “all you need is a saddle, tank, engine, two wheels and handlebars”. More recently as Piaggio’s Advanced Design Director and Head of the Piaggio Design Studio in CA, Miguel penned the Aprilia Dorsoduro, RSV4, and new Tuono, as well as the Moto Guzzi V7 and California 1400. Miguel’s been tasked with re-imagining both Aprilia and Moto Guzzi for the 21st century and we can’t think of a better man for the job. Miguel will speak about the future of transportation, how he goes about designing great motorcycles and what he considers to be great motorcycle designs. “I’m not thinking only about motorcycles,” he says. “This global financial situation is opening many windows and giving designers a chance to reinvent the way we move around. We’re talking about two-and three-wheeled transportation that’s urban, mobile and intelligent. In the future, we’re going to be moving a lot more people.” The presentation will be held at Pro Italia’s new Moto Guzzi store at 3600 N. Verdugo Road in Glendale California (91208). Cocktails will begin at 6:30PM and the presentation will begin at 7:00PM. Seating is limited so please RSVP to Karen Rickman ([email protected] or 818-249-5707).
