APRILIA ON THE TRACK AT ARAGÓN

ALEIX SEEKING CONFIRMATION AFTER THE HISTORIC PODIUM IN SILVERSTONE

MAVERICK VIÑALES TO MAKE HIS EAGERLY ANTICIPATED DÉBUT ON THE OFFICIAL RS-GP

Throughout his career with Aprilia, Aleix Espargaró has always looked forward anxiously to the Aragón round. His particular feeling with the MotorLand circuit, which is apparently also very well suited to the characteristics of the RS-GP, has often allowed the Spaniard to achieve some of his best performances of the season on this asphalt. In the current season, expectations are even higher because of the outstanding form Aleix and his Aprilia have demonstrated, culminating in the first historic MotoGP podium for the Italian manufacturer. However, the celebrations from Silverstone have not distracted from the primary objective, still focused on consistent performance.

It will also be an important weekend for the début of Maverick Viñales astride the RS-GP on a race weekend. An opportunity for Aprilia and for Maverick to prepare for the 2022 season, accumulating experience in a race environment, so under the most demanding conditions. The first approach in Misano during two days of testing was positive for both the rider and the Italian team, but everyone is well aware that the long road to achieving ideal chemistry has just begun.

ALEIX ESPARGARO’

“Aragón is a track that I like a lot. I always feel good here, no matter what the conditions are. This year, we are arriving with a particular spirit – that much is clear – after an important result and with high expectations, but our goal remains the same. We must stay focused and keep working race after race. We know we can battle for the top positions and the podium in Silverstone simply confirmed that.”

MAVERICK VIÑALES

“I can’t wait to get back on the track. The chance to do that straight away is definitely important, especially in view of preparing for the 2022 season. I might not be 100% ready after only two days of testing, but being on track with the others and being able to compare notes with Aleix, who is doing great things, will help me improve my feeling with the RS-GP. The Aprilia staff is highly motivated. I sensed a lot of enthusiasm and a desire to grow which is just more motivation for me to jump into the mix straight away.”
