The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team have announced that Ducati Test Rider, Michele Pirro, will step in for the recovering Fabio Di Giannantonio at the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona.

After Di Giannantonio underwent successful shoulder surgery in preparation for the 2025 season, Andrea Iannone made a highly anticipated return at the Malaysian GP when standing in for his compatriot. However, it will be Pirro who joins Marco Bezzecchi in the VR46 box at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya ahead of the first Official Test of 2025 taking place at the venue on Tuesday the 19th of November.

Due to the Ducati’s incredible form in recent years, the new concessions system that was introduced for the 2024 campaign means this will be Pirro’s first outing of the season and his first since the 2023 Japanese GP.
