Introducing: the Agostini Fan Award for best overtake

2022 marks the introduction of a new, fan-voted award to be presented at the FIM MotoGP™ Awards Ceremony

From 2022, a new annual award will be presented at the end of season FIM MotoGP™ Awards: the Agostini Fan Award. Named for MotoGP™ Legend Giacomo Agostini, the award is for the best overtake of the past year and is voted for by fans. It will be presented to the winning rider at the FIM MotoGP™ Awards on Sunday night at the season finale.

There will be four nominations for the Agostini Award, and the overtakes are nominated from the past calendar year, not just the season. In 2022, that means overtakes from the 2021 Valencia GP to the 2022 Malaysian GP have been considered, and fans will soon be able to vote for their favourite on social media.

With more than 40 million fans following MotoGP™ across social media platforms, the Agostini Award is sure to be hotly-contested – and in 2022 there are some incredible entries lined up to fight for the first:

A – Aleix Espargaró – Dutch GP

B – Fabio Quartararo – Austrian GP

C – Enea Bastianini – Aragon GP

D – Francesco Bagnaia – Australian GP

Fans can vote from Friday at 12:00 CEST on Twitter, YouTube and Instagram to decide who takes their place in history as the first recipient of the Agostini Award. Already know your winner? Make your vote count once the polls open!
