MotoGP Free Practice Four (FP4) and Qualifying Sessions One and Two scheduled to take place Saturday afternoon at Phillip Island in Australia have been cancelled due to “weather conditions,” according to a tweet from the official MotoGP Twitter feed.

The “weather conditions” are extremely high winds that were blamed for blowing Miguel Oliveira off the track approaching Turn One and causing him to crash at very high speed.

Various sources are reporting that Oliveira is relatively uninjured and may ride on Sunday.

How the MotoGP grid will be formed is still to be decided. Qualifying sessions may be held Sunday morning, when weather conditions are forecast to be better, or the grid may be formed using combined time from Free Practices One, Two and Three.
