MotoE World Cup: 2019 Schedule Announced

Five races will make up the inaugural season, from Jerez to Misano

At Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup took another big step towards becoming a reality in 2019 as the Team Principals, FIM President Vito Ippolito, IRTA CEO Mike Trimby, Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta and MotoE™ Executive Director Nicolas Goubert gathered on the grid for a photo opportunity and more details about the Cup were announced.

Calendar

The calendar is the biggest headline, and races will take place at the following circuits as part of each respective Grand Prix event in 2019:

Jerez – 5th May

Le Mans – 19th May

Sachsenring – 7th July

Austria – 11th August

Misano – 15th September

Races

More details on the races themselves have also been released. MotoE™ will be intense, high-adrenaline races that will ensure the power from the bike will remain constant from the first lap to the last. Depending on circuit length, the duration of the races will be between seven and ten laps.

The Bike

The racing-spec 2019 Energica Ego Corsa has a number of adjustments to the production model. The weight is one of the biggest changes, with the racing machine streamlined by an incredible 20kg – lowering the weight 260kg.

Engine power: up to 120kw

Torque: 200N.m

Max speed: up to 270km/h

Battery pack: 20kw

Riders

Riders will be announced at the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon.

Teams

The Team Principles for those competing were part of the Photo Opportunity at Misano. Previously confirmed, the teams with two MotoE™ entries are Tech 3 Racing, LCR Team, Pramac Racing, Esponsorama Racing, Gresini Racing and the Angel Nieto Team. Teams with a single MotoE™ entry are Sepang International Circuit, Marc VDS Racing Team, Ajo Motorsport, Pons Racing, Dynavolt Intact GP and SIC58 Squadra Corse.

November 23rd to 25th 2018 – March 13th to 15th 2019 – April 23rd to 25th 2019
