CORTESE AND EGO CORSA ENJOY THE RIDE IN SUNNY SACHSENRING SUNDAY

The Ego Corsa was taken for a ride Sunday, as the ninth demo lap of the year took place at the iconic Sachsenring circuit. The track-ready, all-electric Superbike by Modena-based Italian manufacturer Energica was ridden around the spectacular 3.7km (2.24mile) German circuit by none other than the first-ever Moto3 World Champion and current World Supersport leader Sandro Cortese, who was greeted once again by his home fans and by a very sunny mid-summer day in Saxony.

TESTING IN EVERY CONDITION

The German Grand Prix represented another fitting opportunity for Energica to push forward with the development of the 2019 Ego Corsa ahead of the first-ever edition of the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup. Energica’s test rider Alessandro Brannetti and former World Champion Loris Capirossi had the first chance to have back-to-back comparisons at the same track under both wet and dry conditions, while fine tuning brake and suspension settings.

“This demo lap was something very special for me,” said Sandro Cortese “and I want to thank Energica and Dorna for choosing me and giving me this opportunity. The bike obviously has some differences to the ones I’ve been riding throughout my career, but I was very positively surprised by the Ego Corsa. The bike has an incredible acceleration! I know the guys at Energica are currently working on the 2019 prototype and there’s a lot of development going on, but I think MotoE can be a lot of fun and it’s surely part of our future!”

With the MotoGP™ World Championship taking a short break, the next demo lap on the calendar will take place at Brno on Sunday 5 August with MotoGP legend Randy Mamola on board.
