MotoAmerica Rider Entries Surpass Triple Digits For Championship Of Pittsburgh

Larger Starting Grids For MotoAmerica In 2018

COSTA MESA, CA (August 21, 2018) – For the second time this season, literally hundreds of racers will take to the MotoAmerica starting grids as the Championship of Pittsburgh gets under way this weekend at Pittsburgh International Race Complex in Wampum, Pennsylvania. All told, PittRace will see a total of 112 entrants competing in MotoAmerica’s five classes, which include the Motul Superbike class, Supersport, Liqui Moly Junior Cup, the Stock 1000 class and the Twins Cup.

Rider entries for this weekend’s MotoAmerica Championship of Pittsburgh nearly match the 114 riders who entered the MotoAmerica Championship of Utah in July, and rider entries for each round have consistently eclipsed the rider entries for the same rounds in 2017.

“We’re very pleased with the number of riders who have chosen to compete in our series this year,” said MotoAmerica President Wayne Rainey. “The starting grids are noticeably larger in all the classes, including our two new classes Stock 1000 and Twins Cup. Pittsburgh was a new round for us last year and everyone really enjoyed the track, the facilities and the surrounding area. We’re looking forward to seeing our fans there this weekend.”

Practice and qualifying for the MotoAmerica Championship of Pittsburgh are set for Friday, August 24, with racing action slated for Saturday and Sunday, August 25-26. To purchase tickets, visit www.theticketfairy.com/event/2018-motoamerica-ser…
