Strack Racing’s Mathew Scholtz won the MotoAmerica Quad Lock Superbike race on Sunday at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Circuit. OrangeCat Racing’s Sean Dylan Kelly, Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing’s Bobby Fong, Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo4Law’s Loris Baz and Wrench Motorcycles’ Cameron Petersen completed the top five. The race was red flagged twice and cut short on the 10th lap after an incident involving Rahal Ducati Moto with XPEL’s PJ Jacobsen, who received a 45 second penalty and was classified 17th. The first red flag came out when polesitter Benjamin Smith lost his Warhorse HSBK Ducati going into Turn Two, flew off the bike and the machine ghost-rode across the circuit twice before slamming into a tire barrier. The second red flag flew after Jacobsen lost the front of his Panigale and crashed, sending the bike flipping through the air and coming to rest on the track.
