MotoAmerica: Mesa On Provisional Supersport Pole At Laguna Seca

Stefano Mesa earned provisional pole position during MotoAmerica Supersport Qualifying One (Q1) Friday at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Riding his Tytlers Cycle Racing Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, Mesa navigated the recently repaved 2.2-mile course in 1:27.577.

Josh Hayes was the best of the rest with a 1:27.817 on his Squid Hunter Racing Yamaha YZF-R6, which has not yet been equipped with the recently legalized cylinder head modifications.

Tyler Scott earned the third and final spot on the provisional front row with a time of 1:28.053 on his Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki GSX-R750.

The top five riders were separated by just 0.629 second.
