Troy Herfoss was the fastest rider in MotoAmerica RSD Mission Super Hooligan Qualifying One (Q1) Friday at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, in Lexington, Ohio. On board his Dunlop-equipped S&S Indian FTR, the reigning Australian Superbike Champion covered the 2.4-mile road course in 1:29.801 to lead the field of 38 riders.

And the large field of riders and the wide variance in speeds (20+ seconds per lap!) was a major factor for the top riders as they struggled to get clean laps.

Tyler O’Hara, the defending Champion and current Championship point leader, was right behind his teammate Herfoss with a 1:29.924.

Travis Wyman claimed the third and final spot on the provisional front row with a lap at 1:30.017 on his Saddlemen Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250.

Wyman’s teammate Cory West did a fourth-fastest 1:30.028, but the third Saddlemen Harley-Davidson rider Jake Lewis did not record a lap time in Q1.

Chris Fillmore rounded out the top five with a 1:30.111 on his KTM Development Team 990 Duke.
