More, from a press release issued by Dorna:
Perrone takes maiden pole to deny pacesetter Piqueras. On home turf for Red Bull and KTM, the Tech 3 rider makes it a first career pole and first for Argentina since 2021.
Valentin Perrone (Red Bull KTM Tech3) has taken pole position in Austria, making it the first for Argentina since 2021 and his first ever in Moto3™. He may have stolen his own headlines earlier in the day, however, with one of the most incredible saves ever – hands down. (Literally!)
Joining him on the front row are Angel Piqueras (QJMotor – FRINSA – MSI), just denied top spot and the pacesetter so far, and his teammate Ryusei Yamanaka in third. Championship leader Jose Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) starts eighth.
Dennis Foggia and CFMoto Gaviota Aspar teammate Max Quiles – who duelled in Brno – are locked together in fourth and fifth, with Adrian Fernandez (Leopard Racing) completing Row 2.
Alvaro Carpe (Red bull KTM Ajo) and David Almansa (Leopard Racing) are split by Rueda on the third row, with Joel Kelso (LEVELUP – MTA) completing the top ten.
