Daniel Holgado earned pole position during Moto2 World Championship qualifying Saturday at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, in Italy. Riding his CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team Kalex on Pirelli control tires, Holgado turned a lap time of 1:34.216. Not only was that good enough to lead the 30-rider field, it was also good enough to eclipse Celestino Vietti’s All-Time Lap Record of 1:34.624 he set this morning in FP2.
Celestino Vietti was the best of the rest with a 1:34.256 on his Beta Tools SpeedRS Boscoscuro, and Manuel Gonzalez claimed the third and final spot on the front row with a 1:34.291 on his Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP Kalex.
Row-two qualifiers included Fantic Racing Lino Sonego’s Barry Baltus (1:34.347) and Aron Canet (1:34.362) and Diogo Moreira on his Italtrans Racing Team Kalex (1:34.391).
American Joe Roberts finished Saturday qualifying session 25th with a best time of 1:35.356 on his OnlyFans American Racing Team Kalex.
