Round four is approaching fast! On June 14th and 15th MotoWestGP racers take on Buttonwillow Raceway Park for our first of two rounds at Buttonwillow! We will be running the always popular clockwise configuration #13. We hope our racers will enjoy a new challenge, Buttonwillow has a wide variety of corners that will make for some exciting racing in our premier classes and expand the skill set of our novice grids.

Round Three saw lap record holder Steve Rapp return to the big track at Willow Springs aboard a Ducati Westlake 1199 Panigale. David Anthony joined the Formula 1 field with his ADR 2014 GSXR 1000. Also taking the start were MWGP regulars Jason Aguilar and Bryce Prince of Tuned Industries. However, during qualifying MWGP number 1 plate holder Chris Duran set the fastest lap and nabbed pole. When the green flag flew under extremely windy conditions, Steve Rapp got the holeshot! Chris Duran was hot on his heels keeping David Anthony narrowly at bay. A mechanical put David Anthony out after the first lap. Steve Rapp held a comfortable six second lead when he also had a mechanical in lap 10. This left Chris Duran with Bryce Prince for a last lap battle to the checkers. Bryce made a move in the Omega but Chris slammed the door and the long legs of his BMW S1000RR took him to a much deserved win in Formula 1! Rounding out the top three were Bryce Prince and Jason Aguilar, respectively.

The experts weren’t the only ones tearing it up! Novice Middleweight Heat A saw a scorcher of a battle between Lindsay Ross, Shaun Byham and Keir Leonhardt. Randy Smith was in a comfortable first place, with Ross, Byham and Leonhardt battling it out for 2nd place when a red flag from the Novice Heavyweight wave in front ended their race. A photo finish and our top four finishers were Randy Smith, Lindsay Ross, Shaun Byham and Keir Leonhardt. Randy Smith won all three novice middleweight races of the weekend in the difficult conditions! John Edmonson continued his dominance of the Novice Heavyweight grid winning two of the three races for the weekend, but Austin Parker grabbed his first win of the season in our Saturday Novice Heavyweight race sponsored by Trackxperience!

Looking forward to round four, previous engagements will prevent Chris Duran from joining the Formula 1 fray. With plenty of momentum following his first ever AMA Supersport podium, Jason Aguilar will join his team mate Bryce Prince both hungry for the top step. Bryce is no stranger to Buttonwillow and is expected to set a blistering pace! Also joining the Formula 1 grid is CM Motorsports rider Chad Lewin, a crash in the qualifying session at the Superbike Shootout in Miller Motorsports Park put Chad Lewin starting at the back of the grid. He battled all the way to 5th place to finish ahead of Aguilar and Prince. Young gun Michael Gilbert is also rumored to be joining his CM Motorsports team at round 4. We cannot wait to see what other fast faces will join us, and who will be on the top step at Buttonwillow!

Our FX Endurance series continues in Buttonwillow with round 3, these 20 lap races at the end of the day Saturday are some of the best practice you can get. Our lightweight twins racers Rex Ainslie and Brian Lensch are tied for first in the series after two rounds! We hope more racers will join the fun on Saturday afternoon. Immediately following the race are podium ceremonies with our famous MWGP Umbrella girls!

Also on Saturday is our popular Run What You Brung race! Where trackday riders can get a taste of racing, including podium ceremonies and tire contingency from Bridgestone and Dunlop! 90% of our RWYB racers go on to join the MWGP family!
