Honda announces an expansion of the Moriwaki MD250H Powered by Honda program. Torrance, CA: American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and Moriwaki Engineering Japan are pleased to announce the MD250H Powered by Honda race bikes — currently offered for sale to youth-riders competing in the United States Grand Prix Racers Union (USGPRU) road racing series — will now be open to any eligible buyers. The MD250H is powered by a 249cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke Unicam® engine from Honda¹s popular CRF250X that has been race tuned by Moriwaki Engineering. From the wheels up, these purpose-built machines have been an instrument for some of the most exciting racing in 2008. The original release of this motorcycle targeted youth racing in America through the USGPRU and is now open to anyone qualified to purchase this product. A potential candidate must order the motorcycle through an approved Moriwaki/Honda dealership and provide a race resume or equivalent at the time of order. Now this race-prepped road racing machine can be enjoyed by all at track-day and club racing venues across the country. Contingency will remain exclusive to the USGPRU youth racing program, and 2008 year models will continue to qualify for contingency in 2009. Suggested retail price for the MD250H is $11,699. It is sold exclusively through select Honda dealers. For more information about availability, contact your local Honda dealer or American Honda at 310/ 783-3983.
