Vintage racing extravaganza at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days
More than 1,200 members of the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association will compete in four types of national-championship vintage competition during the July 18-20 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington and at the nearby Ashland County Fairgrounds in Ashland, Ohio.
A round of The Classic Motor Cycle/Metro Racing Dirt Track Series takes place Friday night at Ashland.
On Saturday the day begins with a Speed & Sport observed trial in the woods on the Mid-Ohio grounds, followed by a round of the Pro-Flo/Progressive Suspension Historic Cup Series on the Mid-Ohio road course.
In addition to a full array of classes for machines up to the early 1980s, AHRMA road racing also showcases modern singles and twins classes.
Road racing continues on Sunday, along with the Speed & Sport motocross national for pre-1975 machines at Mid-Ohio.
Racing legends like Jim Pomeroy, Jay Springsteen and Jeff Smith will take part in the weekend’s racing action. For full details, visit the VMD page at www.ahrma.org.
