TEAM RIDERSDISCOUNT VESRAH SUZUKI HEADS SOUTH TO HOMESTEAD-MIAMI SPEEDWAY AND BRINGS HOME PODIUM FINISHES. The RidersDiscount Vesrah Suzuki team headed to southern Florida this past weekend to continue testing with the team’s 2012 riders and compete in the final race weekend of the year for the CCS Florida region. The team practiced on Friday and Saturday with an eye towards getting a head start on setting up the teams Suzuki GSX-Rs for the recently announced AMA Pro Racing Big Kahuna Miami event next September. On Sunday team riders entered multiple events bringing home podium finishes in many classes. RidersDiscount Vesrah Suzuki was able to sweep the podium in the Middleweight SuperSport class with Benny Solis winning, Jake Lewis in 2nd and Cory West in 3rd. In the featured Unlimited Grand Prix race at the end of the day, Cory finished on the podium in 3rd on a RidersDiscount Vesrah Suzuki GSX-R 1000 while Benny and Jake were the only 600cc machines in the top 10 against a field filled with liter class machinery. Mark Junge – Team Owner RidersDiscount Vesrah Suzuki “All of my riders did great this weekend and we now have a good baseline for this track for when we return next year for the AMA Pro Weekend. Benny and Jake are adapting to the Suzuki quite well and Cory continues to refine the team’s set-up on the Suzuki GSX-R 600.” Breeann Poland Team Manager RidersDiscount Vesrah Suzuki “It was awesome to have all of the guys together to start getting things worked out for next year and having Cory, Benny & Jake all racing against each other. I can’t wait for next season to get started!” Benny Solis – RidersDiscount Vesrah Suzuki #35 “As soon as we arrived to Homestead-Miami Speedway I was really excited to ride as it is a new track for me. I was trying really hard every time I was out on the track, we were making progress and I was feeling better on the bike. I really like the Suzuki GSX-R 600 and getting more seat time was great! One thing I really like about the bike is that the suspension data acquisition really helps me. I can explain an issue I have on track and see exactly what’s happening with the suspension through the computer, so this last weekend, every change we made was a plus!” “It was a really fun time racing at Homestead; I’m seriously excited that it will be one of the AMA rounds for 2012. Over all it was a great weekend, all I can say is that our whole team will be strong in 2012! We are all working hard and I’m happy to be with RidersDiscount Vesrah Suzuki. Also, my teammates are awesome, we all get along very well and have lots of fun on the track and always push each other when we are out there!” Cory West – RidersDiscount Vesrah Suzuki #57 “It was nice to get to come down to Homestead and ride, especially this late in the year. I didn’t quite have the results I was looking for in the CCS sprints, but I’m happy with the progress we made on the setup of the bike and I know when we come back next September we’ll have a good starting point and I won’t be completely lost. It was nice to finally have everyone together on the team and I know we will be a force to be reckoned with in the 600 classes. I hope that I can help Benny and Jake throughout the season and I know they will be pushing me to take my game to a new level. Thanks to my crew and everyone on the newly formed Riders Discount Vesrah Suzuki team for a fun weekend!” Jake Lewis – RidersDiscount Vesrah Suzuki #85 “This past weekend was really good for the whole RidersDiscount Vesrah Suzuki team and I. We went down to Homestead-Miami Speedway and did some CCS races and got in some more track time before the winter break, which was really good for me. The weekend went pretty good with some decent results and I learnt a lot. The important thing was getting the Suzuki GSX-R dialed in and learning more about the bike and getting myself comfortable on it, which went good. Now we know we are going there with the AMA, so it was good to get a good set-up for when we go back next year. I now know what I need to work on and prepare myself to get ready for March when we make our start towards the SuperSport championship!”
