More From Last Weekend’s Races

© 2006, Roadracing World Publishing, Inc. From a press release issued By CRA.

The CRA held our second race event of the season at the ultra fast BIR June 16 and 17th. The Racers were excited to twist it wide open down the monster mile long straightaway and wind their way through the 10 corners back to the start. CRA stands for Central Roadracing Association, but lately you’d think it stands for Confounded Rain Again! We where misfortunate to have uncooperative weather on Saturday. Luckily the entire sprint schedule was able to be condensed into one beautiful and sunny Sunday. A huge “Thank You” to our dedicated and talented volunteer race staff for pulling this off! Contingency money was being paid from Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha for this event and the competition really charged hard for the checkered flag. Robert Jensen, Matt Losen, Shawn Conrad, Shane Fletcher, Jace Porter, and Chad Bakkene took various wins from Unlimited to Ultralight in our expert field. The novices where represented by Eric Josephsen and Andrew Kruse winning most of the races in their perspective weight classes. Congratulations to all who competed and crossed the line! The CRA would like to thank everyone who contributed to this marvelous race weekend. Without you this wouldn’t be the amazing club it is! The CRA would also like to invite everyone to our next race event at BIR, July 14-16. For more info please visit http://www.cra-mn.com. BREA, Calif., (June 22, 2006) American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC) support rider, Team M4 EMGO Suzuki’s Geoff May, captured his first AMA Repsol Superstock podium finish of the 2006 season at the brand-new Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, on Sunday, June 18. The 25-year-old May has consistently finished in fourth place in AMA Superstock until last weekend at the Miller event. Riding a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R1000 for Team M4 EMGO Suzuki since 2005, May is in fourth-place overall in the AMA Superstock title chase. “Once again, we showed that we can run up front with the best of the best,” said May, who led the most laps of the 13-lap race. “I can’t be upset about that. I didn’t do anything wrong — I went out there and was very consistent. I was fast in the beginning and then only dropped off maybe five-tenths a lap late in the race. It was all I could do on this day. While I wanted to win, podiums are always good. I was happy to lead much of the race and show the type of potential we’ve got.” May and the rest of the Suzuki support teams will next compete in AMA road racing at the combined AMA Superbike Championship/MotoGP event at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, Calif., July 21 – 23.
