MILWAUKEE YAMAHA AIMING HIGH FOR OULTON PARK BANK HOLIDAY EVENT Milwaukee Yamaha head to Oulton Park this Bank Holiday weekend (4/5/6 May) with have high hopes for the third round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship as the Cheshire circuit has traditionally proven to be a strong event for the team. James Ellison is determined to build on his podium finishes from the opening two rounds at the track where he scored his maiden top three result in the Championship back in 2008. The Kendal-based rider currently lies fourth in the overall standings after some bad luck at the opening two events, but is ready to close the deficit this weekend. Australian double Superbike champion Josh Waters is looking to bounce back from his high-speed Thruxton crash on his debut at Oulton Park having completed some laps of the circuit in a recent test. Waters has claimed a top ten finish this season and is now ready to make amends for missing out at the previous round. Ellison said: “We have had two good podium finishes from the first four races, but at the same time I was disappointed with the first races at Brands Hatch and Thruxton – hopefully that is my bad luck for the season done now! We had a test at Cadwell Park after Thruxton and that went really well and we made some more steps in the right direction. Oulton Park has traditionally been a good circuit for the team and it should be a good track for the Yamaha. We had a few laps at Oulton Park too, not as many as we would have liked, but enough to give us some more data so we can start free practice a bit ahead of where we would have been without it. We obviously want to close the gap in the points and put Milwaukee Yamaha back on the podium so hopefully we can achieve it at Oulton Park.” Waters said: “It has been a few weeks since the last round so I can’t wait to get going again this weekend. We have been lucky to do some testing since Thruxton and that included some laps of Oulton Park so at least I can start the weekend knowing where I am going! For me Oulton Park is a great track; the elevation changes are more than you expect them to be after watching last year’s round on DVD. Hopefully the tests we have had since the last round means we can be in a better position for this weekend and we can have some good finishes for the Milwaukee Yamaha team.” For more information visit www.milwaukeeyamaha.com
