Miller Motorsports Park Presents: The Quest for 200 Who Will Be First? Who Will Be Fastest? TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (April 2, 2012) “” When the FIM Superbike World Championship returns to Miller Motorsports Park for the BigM Weekend, May 26-28, the possibility exists that history will be made, and fans can win big prizes with a little educated guesswork. In 2010, Max Biaggi’s Aprilia was recorded on MMP’s 3,500-foot-long front straightaway at over 197 mph. There is a very good chance that someone will break the magical 200-mph barrier at this year’s event, and that would distinguish Miller Motorsports Park as the fastest natural-terrain road course in North America. As a result, Miller Motorsports Park is launching “The Quest for 200,” a contest that will allow fans to win tickets to the 2013 BigM Weekend and some awesome prizes from contest sponsors Pirelli Tires and Tissot Watches. “We’re very excited about ‘The Quest for 200,'” said John Larson, General Manager of Miller Motorsports Park. “If someone can reach 200 mph, it will make Miller Motorsports Park the fastest natural-terrain road racing circuit in North America, which is appropriate since we’re just an hour away from the Bonneville Salt Flats and that would add to Utah’s history of speed. Plus, it gives our great fans a chance to have some fun with us and win some terrific prizes. It’s just going to be another facet of what is going to be a weekend full of fun and excitement, and we can’t wait for the BigM Weekend to get here.” The contest asks two questions: “Who Will Be First?” – meaning which rider will be the first to break the 200-mph barrier, and “Who Will Be Fastest?” – meaning which rider will record the fastest speed overall during the weekend. The speed can be set in any timed session throughout the weekend, including practice, provisional qualifying, Superpole or either of the two World Superbike races. The first person to provide the answer to “Who Will Be First?” (including the rider and his top speed) will receive a round-trip airline ticket to Salt Lake City from anywhere in the United States and three nights’ hotel accommodations, VIP tickets to the BigM Weekend including pit access. In addition, the winner will receive a set of motorcycle tires from Pirelli and a watch from Tissot. The first person to provide the answer to “Who Will Be Fastest?” (including the rider and his top speed of the weekend) will receive VIP tickets to the BigM Weekend including pit access, plus a set of motorcycle tires from Pirelli and a watch from Tissot. If no rider manages to break the 200-mph mark during the weekend, none of the prizes will be awarded. If there is a tie in either contest, the winner will be determined by a randomized software program. Fans can enter the contest by visiting www.MillerMotorsportsPark.com/200mph. Formal contest rules can be found there. The May 28-30 BigM Weekend at Miller Motorsports Park will include the USA Round of the FIM Superbike World Championship, plus support races from AMA Pro Road Racing including the National Guard American SuperBike Championship, the GoPro Daytona SportBike Championship, the Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport Championship and the Vance & Hines XR1200 Championship, as well as the second annual DRIFT BigM Superbike Super Celebrity Mega Kart Showdown. There will also be live music throughout the weekend and a major tribute to our armed forces in recognition of Memorial Day. To obtain tickets for or information about The BigM Weekend, or for information regarding Miller Motorsports Park, call 435-277-RACE (7223) or visit the track’s website at www.MillerMotorsportsPark.com.
