Vortex Racing announces new Vice President of Operations SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH Vortex Racing, a leader in high-performance motorcycle parts and accessories, announced today that it has named Kipp McGowan vice president of operations. Prior to joining the Vortex team, McGowan was sales manager for RK Excel America Inc. He is a 17-year veteran working for aftermarket companies in the power sports industry. “We are very excited to bring Kipp aboard to support the growth of the company. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and relationships both national and international. I have known Kipp for many years and worked with him in the past. He has experience on many levels from sales, manufacturing, product development, business development and overseas communication. I believe we are a good fit,” says Matt Griffin, president of Vortex Racing. Vortex is growing and recently moved its corporate headquarters to Salt Lake City, Utah; keeping most of it manufacturing arm in Tampa, Florida. McGowan will be an integral part of Vortex’s continued expansion and growth plan. “I am very excited about this opportunity! The motorcycle industry is the only industry I can see myself working in. Riding and racing dirt bikes as a teen and hitting the pavement full time at the age of 16 when first licensed. He started attending track days in the mid-1990s; graduating to road racing at the club level. Working at a dealership in Northern California in the early 90s, McGowan landed a job at Lockhart Phillips in 1995. He worked his way up to sales manager with Lockhart Phillips. In 2003, he moved on to an apparel manufacturing company. By 2005, McGowan was hired as sales manager for RK Excel America Inc. where he enjoyed a six-year tenure of success.
