What was original scheduled to be a 30-minute provisional qualifying session for the KTM RC390 Cup class Friday afternoon at Road America turned into a 15-minute Free Practice Session Two. MotoAmerica changed the labeling of the session because it was shortened due to a rain delay and run in mixed conditions and because officials did not want to put any undue pressure on the young riders of the class, according to Communications Director Paul Carruthers.
The rain shower in the middle of the afternoon caused many KTM riders to mount rain tires, but the track dried out significantly right before the session and several riders were forced to still use rain tires because they only have one set of wheels.
