DENVER, Colo. (October 1, 2012) – M1 PowerSports is thrilled to announce the M1 PowerSports SuperKart Challenge, set to kick off the Triumph Big Kahuna New Orleans presented by Dunlop Tire and LeoVince on NOLA Motorsports Park’s world-class karting facility. This Thursday, October 4 at 3:00 p.m., the team-based race format will give a few lucky Big Kahuna fans, local armed forces members and media the chance to team up with, and battle against, the GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing athletes set to take the stage on NOLA Motorsports Park’s road course later in the week. “The SuperKart Challenge marks the beginning of one of the most exciting events of the year for motorcycle riders and racing fans,” said Cameron Gray, CEO of M1 PowerSports. “The city of New Orleans feels like a second home after all these months of preparation and we can’t wait to Get Back to the Track!” The SuperKart Challenge will be conducted in four five-lap heats, and each driver must complete one of the heat races. Rather than competing for overall finishing position, each driver’s fastest lap time will be recorded and added to their teammates’ fastest lap times. The team with the lowest cumulative lap time will win the event. The top three teams will receive trophies and the fan and armed forces member on the winning team will receive two (2) three-day ticket packages to this weekend’s GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing season finale.
