Lukas Pesek has signed with the Came IodaRacing Team and will ride its Suter-framed, BMW-powered CRT bike in the 2013 MotoGP World Championship, according to the official website of MotoGP.
Pesek, of the Czech Republic, made his World Championship debut in 2002 at the Czech Republic Grand Prix. In 2003, he competed in nine 250cc World Championship races, before spending the next four seasons in the 125cc World Championship.
In 2007, Pesek got one pole position, won two races, finished on the podium four other times and placed fourth in the 125cc World Championship. He moved back up to the 250cc World Championship for 2008 and 2009 and made 11 starts in the inaugural Moto2 World Championship season, 2010.
His best result in Moto2 was 15th on his Matteoni CP Racing Moriwaki MD600H.
By joining the Came IodaRacing Team, Pesek is reuniting with Giampero Sacchi, his Team Manager at Derbi during his 2007 season. Sacchi now runs the Came IodaRacing Team.
