The Honda Superbike Showdown of Alabama MotoAmerica event at Barber Motorsports Park is getting off to a late start Friday morning.

The track was operating a Porsche Sport Driving USA school on Thursday, the day MotoAmerica normally moves in and sets up ahead of a race event weekend. As a result, MotoAmerica started moving in three hours later than normal and officials and competitors performed normal setup-day activities later into the evening Thursday.

Because of this MotoAmerica elected to push back the start of free practice sessions on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. To make up for the late start, 10 minutes were shaved off each of the four practice sessions scheduled for Friday morning.

The normal MotoAmerica schedule will resume beginning at 1:00 p.m. local time on Friday afternoon.
