Kawasaki Racing Team 2015 Presentation Draws Great Interest

The official Kawasaki Racing Team will unveil its full new season WSBK livery during its team launch in Barcelona on Thursday 5th February, with confirmed Superbike riders Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea on hand to show off their latest Ninja ZX-10Rs.

In what is a now a traditional curtain-raiser for the season the Kawasaki Racing Team presentation will this year take place on the evening of 5th February, at a venue near the team’s European home base.

Always a popular point of focus for the media the KRT launch will see the team’s 2015 personnel join partners, sponsors, media and many more interested groups for the first public viewing of the new season Ninja ZX-10R in its final form.

The launch will be broadcast by live streaming on the Motocard youtube channel www.youtube.com/motocardtv for fans around the world, at 18:15 GMT.

Very shortly after the presentation the whole team will begin final preparations to leave for Australia and the first round of the championship on February 22nd, at the Phillip Island circuit.

Despite many changes to the technical regulations of the Superbike class, strong testing performances by Sykes and Rea in the winter months have already given Kawasaki and the entire team confidence that they will have all they need to make a good start in the latest era of WSBK competition.

Biel Roda, Kawasaki Racing Team Marketing Manager, commented: “KRT actually started the 2015 season the day after the final Qatar race in 2014. During the pre-season we’ve had a lot of homework to do, new rules, new rider, new sponsors, etc. We have managed to combine all these challenges during the winter tests in Spain and although our “to do list” is still quite long, we are sure we will already have a very competitive package for our first race in Australia. The team launch we are hosting in Barcelona on Thursday is a great opportunity to show the new design of the bike. We will also welcome all the people involved in making this complex project possible; a long list of partners, sponsors, suppliers, staff, local politicians, friends and journalists will join us in Barcelona for the official start of our racing season.”

Steve Guttridge, Kawasaki Europe Race Planning Manager, commented: “It has been an extra busy winter for the Kawasaki Racing Team, working very closely with the factory and our suppliers, testing and developing our Ninja ZX-10R in order to be ready for the new regulations and so to be able to compete at the front again within the single class Superbike Championship for 2015. Already we arrive at the team launch which marks the official start of the new season for us and importantly allows the team a great opportunity to announce the significant updates to the press and media about our latest WSBK machine, our riders, sponsors and overall team image before the racing starts.”
