KAWASAKI DE MÉXICO TO CONTEND FOR CMRA LW ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Monterrey, México – With a team formed by three Mexican riders and one more from Texas the official distributor for Kawasaki in México will contend for the 2016 CMRA Ultra Lightweight Endurance Championship aboard a race-prepared Kawasaki Ninja 300 bike. The team roster includes Mexico’s 2015 Ninja 300 Cup Series Champion Enrique Muñiz, 2015 RacingBike México Series 600 Superstock runner up, CMRA Novice and Ninja 300 Cup rider Megan Wanat and CMRA Expert Javier Martínez-Abrego III. They will team up for the 5 rounds of the Endurance Series .

Kawasaki de México Director Francisco Barcena commented: “We had a successful Ninja 300 Cup Series by RUHER Motos in 2015. This Endurance Team project was set to expand our efforts in the promotion of the Ninja 300 Cup outside our own country giving México riders the opportunity to participate and learn in the CMRA series and also for USA riders to consider coming to race our Ninja 300 Cup Series in México.”

The first race of the season will take place this coming Saturday February 20th. at Motorsport Ranch Houston facility with a 6 hour Endurance event. Over 30 teams will participate in what is expected to be a very competitive racing level; team effort and race strategy will be important at this venue where only Megan and Javier have participated in previous years.

“I thank Kawasaki de México for the support on this project. This is part of an all around activities we are developing to help out young riders in their racing development. Having riders from México participating in a team effort outside their country will not only help them improve their riding skills; they will learn to work as part of a team outside their ‘comfort zone’ in a new track in a ‘different language’ which also will help them develop their personal skills,” mentioned Javier Martínez-Abrego, Jr. Team Owner and Promosport LLC President.

This is not the first time Kawasaki de México jumps into the US racing scenario, it was back in the late ‘90s when Mexican riders Pedro “Speedy” Gonzalez & Erick Vallejo contended the AMA Supercross Series under the direction of a Kawasaki de México structure.

Kawasaki de México Racing Ninja 300 Bike is backed and supported by Grupo Motomex, Motos y Equipos, Motul Moto México, Galfer USA, Dunlop Tires and Road and Track Cycles.
