Randy Robison, President of Robison’s Inc., recently declared war on those who were stealing its JOE ROCKET® brand name in an attempt to sell falsely identified leather jackets. Acting expeditiously, Mr. Robison promptly and aggressively filed a federal lawsuit against the suspected counterfeiters before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California where the court immediately ordered a seizure of the counterfeit jackets and issued a temporary restraining order against the counterfeiters. A Robison’s Inc. representative, accompanied by 3 U.S. Marshals, 2 attorneys and a locksmith, converged on a San Diego storage facility from wherein counterfeit items bearing the JOE ROCKET® brand name were discovered and subsequently seized. With the assistance of a private investigator, counterfeit jackets were previously traced to this specific clandestine operation. The seized items are of extremely poor quality and construction but are marked with the highly sought after registered JOE ROCKET® trademark. “We have invested years of experience developing the JOE ROCKET® brand into the market leader it is today. Our brand is our livelihood and there is no way I will allow it to be stolen, misused and outright desecrated like this, “Mr. Robison said. “Perhaps the scariest thing is that persons unknowingly may have thought they were purchasing a genuine piece of JOE ROCKET® apparel equipped with the many features that our technology affords. This counterfeit junk is devoid of most of our features thereby making it a liability to our reputation for excellence,” he went on to say. The raid and seizure were conducted on November 15 and a few days thereafter, the counterfeiters appeared before the District Court Judge who ordered a preliminary injunction against the named defendants and those acting in concert with them. Thus, any renegade retail stores or suppliers who are dealing in these counterfeit jackets will be in violation of the Court order, thereby subjecting themselves to possible criminal or civil penalties. A copy of this preliminary injunction can be provided to any interested person upon request. Any future counterfeiters will be dealt with just as harshly. “I want to thank the U.S. Marshals, the attorneys involved, the private investigator and the California federal court in helping to correct this frustrating situation. I want our JOE ROCKET® customers and our dealer network to know that we will not allow our brand name to be compromised whatsoever, “Mr. Robison said. Robison’s Inc. is the exclusive source of JOE ROCKET® products and it continues to develop, design, build, race and sell the finest motorcycle apparel products in the world.
