Daytona Beach, Fla – Former 250 GP and 2007 SunTrust MOTO-ST Sports Twin Champion Jimmy Filice will join Team HurtByAccident.com to contest the opening round of the AMA Pro SunTrust MOTO-GT2 Series at Daytona International Speedway. Ready to take to the track on March 6 in this two hour endurance spectacular, Filice will team with John Linder aboard the Czaia & Gallagher sponsored No. 64 Ducati PS1000LE. “We are thrilled to have Jimmy aboard our Ducati,” says team owner C.J. Czaia. Jason (Edmonds) has a conflict of interest for this event and when we found out Jimmy was available, we jumped at the chance. I have watched him race for a number of years and he is extremely talented and there is no doubt that he will do an excellent job for us.” Born and raised in California and now a resident of Daytona Beach, Fla., Filice has enjoyed a long and impressive career in the two-wheeled world. One of the most versatile racers around, this young man started competing in flat track before turning to road racing, both in 250cc Grand Prix and Superbike competition. Enjoying a reputation as one of the elite riders in the history of 250 Grand Prix racing, Filice earned three championship titles. His single biggest victory came in 1988 when he took top honors at the US round of the 250cc Grand Prix World Championship at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, Calif. “I’m excited to be riding for Czaia & Gallagher,” smiles Filice. “My son rode for them last season and they do a tremendous job. The Ducati is a great machine for endurance racing. In fact, my teammate John Linder and Jason Edmonds brought home the class win in last year’s 8 Hours At Daytona. That says a lot, both for the bike and the team.” “Riding with Jimmy will be a great experience,” adds John Linder. “We definitely want to start the season off with a win, and Jimmy’s knowledge and expertise will be a big help in our quest for victory.” “We narrowly missed the championship last season,” says Czaia. “This time, we don’t plan to let that happen. Its all systems go and we are ready for Friday’s Green Flag.” Headquartered in Bradenton, Fla., with offices in many Florida cities, Czaia & Gallagher P.A. is one of the larger personal injury and accident law firms in the state of Florida. Extremely involved in community activities, they are dedicated to supporting numerous causes including the March of Dimes Bikers for Babies, Family Health Centers, Herocare, Healthy Start and AFCAAM to name just a few. In addition, they are strong supporters of Biker Nights held around the state. Utilizing both their racing program and appearances at Biker Nights one of Czaia & Gallagher’s goals is to educate Florida motorcycle riders of their rights. Be sure and come to Daytona International Speedway, Friday, March 6 and cheer Czaia & Gallagher’s TeamHurtByAccident.com on to victory.
