Injury Update From Saturday’s AMA Superbike Race At Mid-Ohio

Robertino Pietri suffered relatively minor injuries but did not seek medical attention at the track Saturday. Shane Narbonne was airlifted to Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, where he was diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder, according to MRO Chaplain Tim Burleson. Narbonne was expected to be released Sunday. Dean Mizdal was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Mansfield, Ohio, he told Roadracingworld.com Sunday morning. He has a bruised lung and a soft tissue injury to his right wrist that will not require surgery to repair. He said he did not remember anything from the crash except getting to his feet, having a hard time breathing and then evidently passing out. Garrett Carter suffered a concussion and was held overnight in a local hospital for observation. He is expected to be released Sunday but will not race, according to his team.
