2ND ANNUAL SPROCKETS ON SPEEDWAY EVENT AT INDIANAPOLIS MOTOGP Race fans will have another entertainment option while at the Red Bull Indianapolis MotoGP this year. In partnership with the Town of Speedway Chamber of Commerce, the INDY DESMO Owners Club is hosting a Bike Show and Street Party on Friday evening, August 16, 2013. This second annual event will feature an amazing collection of motorcycles in the shadow of the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Town of Speedway recently redeveloped their Main Street and the town is the new home for the Dallara IndyCar Factory, Indy Racing Experience and Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing. The event will include stunt show, bike show and a live performance from local talent The Knollwood Boys. Food and drink will be available from Dawons on Main. Main Street in Speedway will be open to Motorcycles Only and plenty of parking will be available. A $5 per bike event fee will be collected to cover the entertainment and bike show. The Bike Show will include 9 classes and 1 best in show categories. Entry into the bike show is included with every event fee. All makes and brands of motorcycle are welcome. The event will include a bike show, awards announcements on Best in Class and Best in Show, a stunt show, live entertainment by the Knollwood Boys, food catered by Dawson’s on Main, and drinks available for purchase. “The Indy Desmo Owners Club looks forward to this event and the various styles of motorcycles set to line Main Street, said Brent Cohoon, vice-president of Indy Desmo Owners Club. “It’s a great way to build up excitement about bikes and racing, even if you don’t own one yourself.” The classes of bikes involved in the contest include Performance Custom, Modified Street, Metric Cruiser, Vintage pre ’81, Vintage Custom, Scooter, Modified American, Modified European and Best Cafe Racer. Anyone is welcome to enter his or her bike into the contest and pre-registration for the bike show is from 5-6 p.m. on Friday. There is a $5 entrance fee for the event and free parking is available at 16th and Main Streets.
