Matt Goerke, Monster Energy- Monster Energy Leading Edge Kawasaki After a few tough years of injuries and struggling to find a good ride Matt is having his best season in his professional career. He was selected as a fill-in rider for Michael Byrne on the BTO Sports Suzuki team and showed amazing speed. This summer he is the top rider on the Monster Energy Leading Edge Kawasaki squad racing the Canadian Outdoor Nationals and he’s won nine out of ten motos in the MX1 Class. He leads the Championship by 36 points with four races left. This year he’s racing the WORCS Pro 2 class and he trails point leader Ivan Ramirez by only seven points. This past weekend he finished third at Pala and they have two races remaining so his championship quest is there for him to grab. A few weeks ago he won the Bronze medal at the X Games in the Enduro X event. Also Cory leads the points in the AMA Racing West Hare Scrambles Championship Series . This past weekend he finished fourth in both Race #1 and Race #2 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course during the Buckeye Superbike Weekend presented by Dunlop. Rapp sits seventh in points with plenty of racing left in the season to advance. He decided to try to turn his motocross hobby into a career. When he was 19, he decided to take a class at a California community college. Five years later, he is Columbia University’s class of 2012 valedictorian, and is starting as a PhD candidate in cognitive neuroscience at UC Berkeley.
