AMA motorcycle road racer Vincent Haskovec, seriously injured in a crash at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California May 14, has checked himself out of Santa Clara Medical Center in San Jose and has returned to his home in Lake Elsinore. Haskovec, who suffered lower body paralysis in the crash, is preparing to begin therapy at Project Walk in Carlsbad, California next week. “I left the hospital in San Jose three weeks early, because I want to push myself with different ideas for physical therapy,” said Haskovec. “They told me I was crazy to leave early, but I want to get working as fast as I can at getting out of this wheelchair. I have to do it.” Haskovec can be contacted via e-mail, [email protected], or via regular mail c/o Team M4 EMGO Suzuki, Team Hammer, Inc., PO Box 183, Wildomar, CA 92595. A benefit auction of racing memorabilia runs through Friday, August 19 at www.rpmcolorado.com .
