RICHARDS AND KENNEDY SET FOR SUPERSPORT TITLE CONTEST AT BRANDS HATCH The Motorpoint British Supersport Championship protected by Datatag goes down to the wire this weekend (12/13/14 October) at Brands Hatch as arch rivals Glen Richards and Jack Kennedy go head-to-head for the 2012 title. The pair have been inseparable all season with Australian Richards and the Smiths (Gloucester) Racing Triumph team holding a narrow 12.5 advantage over Martrain Yamaha’s Kennedy ahead of the final two races this weekend. The pair took a win apiece on the Grand Prix circuit earlier in the season and are set to be equally matched again as they bid for the final 50 points of the campaign. Richards said: “We are not that far apart but for me it is better to be going into the final races of the season ahead in the standings rather than behind. We will have to wait and see what happens this weekend.” Kennedy added: “I really enjoy the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit and I am sure it will go down to the wire in the last race of the year and be really tight between us; it will be fun to watch that’s all I will say!” The title protagonists will need to fend off the challenges from their closest rivals with race winners Ben Wilson (Gearlink Kawasaki), Billy McConnell (Smiths (Gloucester) Racing Triumph), Christian Iddon (Oxford TAG Triumph) all bidding for victories this weekend.
