Gino Rea is to make an unexpected return to the Sepang Circuit at the Malaysian Grand Prix where he took his first podium finish in the Moto2 class only a year ago. Gino who rode to a sensational 3rd place in last year’s Malaysian GP, will be replacing Alberto Moncayo at Sepang, Phillip Island and Motegi with the Argiñano & Ginés Racing Team. The opportunity to race at the flyaway rounds has come as a surprise to the Londoner who was expecting to sit out these races and make a final return to the paddock at the Valencia GP with his team. “I am very thankful to the AGR team for this opportunity as it keeps me racing and in the Moto2 paddock for the flyaway races. I am really excited to work with this team and I will be giving it my all to bring them some strong results. This will be a challenging experience for me, riding for a new team and on a different chassis, the SpeedUp, for the first time at a race weekend. I have demonstrated this year that I can learn fast and I hope to adapt quickly to the bike and team”. The next MotoGP race takes place on 13th October at Sepang, Malaysia where Gino was on the podium in 2012.
