Fundraiser For Injured Vintage Racer Russ Granger Adds $1,000 To Recovery Fund

A fundraiser at the Ramming Speed Classic Track Day Carnival
of Speed held over the last weekend at Willow Springs International Raceway raised
another $1,000 for injured racer Russ Granger.

Granger is a fixture in the vintage racing scene in Southern
California and competed in the Classic TT at the Isle of Man in 2013. His
father, Jim Granger, is usually trackside with Russ, pipe in mouth and
wrench in hand.

Granger was thrown from an F1 sidecar at Buttonwillow
Raceway Park during a WERA West race weekend in July and sustained injuries to his neck,
back and head. Granger suffered a T-10 spinal cord injury that resulted in six
vertebrae being fused, and he has no movement below the waist.
