Team Pro-Motion a sportbike track riding club holding days at New Jersey Motorsports Park, Summit Point, VIR, BeaveRun, Monticello and Pocono race tracks has stepped up its Advanced Rider Training “ART” program. Three time Grand Prix world championship winning rider Freddie Spencer will now be offering his extensive knowledge to riders looking for the ultimate school experience. Two programs have been designed to cover a wide range of individual needs. Track and street riders alike can select one of two programs. The “Premier” program which consists of a one day or two day training curriculum where up to 25 students can participate in learning the fundamentals necessary for advancing in the sport. The “Extreme” program is an intense one-on-one training course geared for up to 5 students. “In the morning classroom session, I begin with an over view of what you will learn the first day. Also, I discuss how to fix the mistakes the average rider makes; mistakes that get in the way of their ability to improve their lap time and how to correct those mistakes with less effort and risk! I review how riders put themselves and their bikes in positions on the track – or on the street as well – that are not only limiting them from improving their lap times, but how they are doomed by the choices they make before they ever begin preparing to enter a corner!! After the introduction, I teach the how’s and whys and the necessary techniques to help riders understand how to change direction quickly in the application of lean angle (my belief is when you begin to lean the bike the direction you want to go there needs to be immediate response Learning will extend to why national and international caliber riders can do it and why it is not only a faster way to change direction but safer and easier to repeat. This requires learning to properly use your body and front brakes (trail braking). When you can do that it will improve your entry speed and mid-corner speed (because the bike is pointed correctly at the right position), and you will be able to begin to pickup the throttle, and take away lean angle to improve your exit speed on the track. You will spend less time on the very edge of the side of the tire. Also, you will learn that how you prepare, and the position and line you put the bike in, is the genesis of everything that happens next!! On the track it determines your mid-corner and exit speed. I guarantee riders to have a better understanding of how the bike works, and how to let the bike help them become a better rider”, Freddie Spencer. “It amazes me that I have been blessed with this reality. In working so hard for more than 12 years to see something like this materialize, and to be able to offer such a hi-level of rider training is beyond a dream. To be a part of such a great organization such as Team Pro-Motion, and to share in ones self to where others realize their greatest potential, is for me the reason to continue my quest for ultimate happiness and to share in the ultimate gift – life”, Glen Goldman, president Team Pro-Motion.
