Seven-Time AMA Flat Track Champ Chris Carr Joins Forces Again With Ford Quality Checked Program Sixth-straight year that Carr will run the Ford Quality Checked Certified Pre-owned banner, featuring crew chief Kenny Tolbert and race mechanic Bubba Bentley for ’07 FLEETWOOD, Pa., (Feb. 2, 2007) Flat track race legend Chris Carr who starts his 22nd year of professional racing next month – announced today that for the sixth-consecutive season the Ford Quality Checked Certified Pre-owned program will be the title sponsor of Chris Carr Racing. Carr, who will again be the lone rider on the program this year, is the winningest active rider on the AMA Flat Track circuit. His 75 race victories and seven overall titles are both second on the all-time list to Scotty Parker. This year Carr’s program will be overseen on the Ford Motor Company side by Tom Cornellier, who took over for longtime Ford/AMA flat track backer Mike Dennis. “I just wanted to say thanks to Ford’s Mike Dennis because of his belief in my program and the sport of flat track,” said Carr. “And I’d like to welcome Ford’s Tom Cornellier, a man who’s relatively new to the sport of flat track, but understands the benefits the sport’s loyal middle America fan base has delivered to the Ford Quality Checked program during the past five years.” In the five years with the Ford Quality Checked program Carr has delivered four Grand National Championships and one Ford Quality Checked Overall Championship runner-up position. Carr, who last fall became the fastest man in history on two wheels (a project also backed by Ford), is poised and ready to make another run at the AMA Ford Quality Checked Flat Track Championship titles (Twin & Singles) that eluded him last year. “We expect to come out swinging at Daytona (March 7-8) and not let up through the October season finale in Columbus (Ohio),” said Carr of the 2007 title quest. “We’ll be running the KTM 450SX in the Singles series and the Lancaster Harley Davison-backed XR 750 in the Twins series and our goal is to be on top in both series.” Joining Carr again this year will be longtime friend and tuner, Kenny Tolbert, along with veteran race mechanic Bubba Bentley. “We’ll again be a close-knit, racing team with one goal in mind: winning the 2007 AMA Ford Quality Checked Flat Track Championship title for the eighth time.” Ford Quality Checked Certified pre-owned vehicles include a manufacturer’s warranty, comprehensive vehicle inspection and more.
