Bayview, Wisconsin – wforacingonline.com is pleased to announce it’s intention to compete in AMA Pro Racing’s recently announced Vance & Hines XR1200 spec class with former AMA Pro Thunder Champion and 883 Twins Sport front runner Shawn Conrad at the handlebars for the Road America round. Rider Shawn Conrad: ‘I’m excited to be riding one of these awesome wforacingonline.com tuned XR1200 motorcycles. I rode the team’s XR at Barber at the end of last season and was impressed. I was able to give a lot of feedback and am looking forward to getting on the new bike and seeing what we can do at my home track’. Team Principal Wes Orloff: ‘We are excited to be on the grid at the inaugural race of the Vance & Hines XR1200 spec series at our home track with a proven talent like Shawn. We have been friends for a number of years and often talked about putting together an AMA effort. We have a lot of history and experience with the XR1200, and we feel we can give Shawn a competitive ride’. The team campaigned an AHRMA Battle of the Twins Formula 2 prepared Harley-Davidson XR1200 ridden to a regional championship in 2009 by team fabricator Rick Goldberg. ‘We learned a tremendous amount racing the Formula 2 XR1200 with Rick last year. I think that will be a big advantage for us at the first race of the Vance & Hines Series’. Currently the team is looking for a primary sponsor. Orloff: ‘We have some great product sponsors that have come over from our successful Buell program, as well as Shawn’s personal sponsorships, but we are still looking for a primary sponsor that would be interested in teaming with us. We have some cool stuff lined up that will put a really positive light on our program’. The team and their season will be the subject of a Harley-Davidson social networking program, and will be filmed/broadcast during the bike build, testing, and race weekends on Harley-Davidson Facebook and MySpace sites, as well as on YouTube.
