FIM Moto2 European Championship Staying With Honda Engines In 2021

FIM CEV Repsol Moto2™ Engines for 2021

After the meeting between the representatives of the Moto2™ teams held last October in order to share views and discuss the engine technical regulations for the 2020 season, it was agreed that the only manufacture engine for the Moto2™ European Championship remained unchanged for the season 2020. That is to say, it was compulsory to use the Honda CBR 600 RR model.

At that time, it was discussed to postpone the use of the Triumph Moto2™ engine for 2021 season. Because of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the FIM CEV Repsol decision is to reduce the costs for the next 2021 season and it will be still maintained the use of the Honda CBR 600 RR model. Those models allowed are 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 or 2020. (Type PC40x).

Further decisions about the use of the Triumph Moto2™ engine for 2022 season will be considered in the future.
