New Sports Director

The FIM is glad to announce the hiring of a new Sports Director, starting on 19 June.

Fabio MUNER (44) is Italian and has an extensive knowledge of the motorcycle world thanks to the posts he has occupied successively in the industry at Aprilia, Pirelli and Dainese. Throughout his career he managed teams of engineers, marketers and product development specialists. His current position is Racing & Strategic Partnerships Director at Dainese, reporting directly to the company’s CEO.

Fabio studied economics at the University of Trieste and is fluent in English and French.

He will assume responsibility for heading the Sports Department as well as coordinating all activities in relation to the main protagonists of our sport, namely the Sporting Commissions, FMNs, riders, teams, promoters and the industry.

Fabio is highly motivated by this new professional challenge: “I am setting out on this new professional path within the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme with lots of enthusiasm and pride. I would like to thank the FIM President Vito Ippolito and CEO Steve Aeschlimann for placing their trust in me. I am eager to place the skills I have acquired during a career linked exclusively to the motorcycle industry and motorcycle sport at the service of the men and women of the FIM and its Commissions.”

FIM CEO Steve Aeschlimann added: “I believe that Fabio has all the required skills and experience to lead the FIM Sporting activities to a new level. Beyond his passion for motorcycling and his deep knowledge of the industry, Fabio will bring along a strong management background from the corporate world. This experience will surely help us revise and deliver on the ambitious sporting objectives of the FIM Strategic Plan.”
