       The only way to fully understand the talent of a rider is to talk with engineers who work with him and with riders who share the racetrack with him. The best engineers to get information from are tire and suspension technicians, who work with lots of riders and study their data. And the engineers who have worked with Marc Marquez say that his talent is unique.

       But what makes Marquez so good?

       He competes in an era of control (spec) tires and spec electronics, when it’s difficult for riders to get their bikes perfect for the race. Marquez is so good that he can adapt to these situations and make it up as he goes along.  He has astonishing feel for what the front tire is doing, so he can keep pushing while his rivals are scaring themselves silly with front-end slides. Then there’s his determination and his hunger for victory, which older members of the paddock liken to that shown by Mick Doohan and Wayne Rainey …
