The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) today announces a new partnership with Eurosport Events, the events management division of the Eurosport Group, for the promotion of the FIM Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC) until 2020.

As the official series promoter, Eurosport Events will be responsible for shaping the calendar and providing Live Timing & Results. The promoter will also enhance media visibility for the series through the Eurosport platforms and key third party broadcasters, as well as managing associated commercial properties.

Launched in 1980, the FIM Endurance World Championship is the pinnacle of motorcycle endurance racing and includes legendary races such as the 24H Le Mans, Bol D’Or, Suzuka 8Hours and Oschersleben. The series features world-class motorcycle manufacturers such as Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Aprilia and BMW.

The 2015 FIM Endurance World Championship Calendar will be published later today.

Vito Ippolito, President of FIM: “The FIM welcomes this partnership which should provide this FIM Championship, with its illustrious history and its dedicated fans, to gain new visibility through the platforms offered by Eurosport. Endurance racing is one of the most exciting forms of road racing and we are looking to Eurosport Events to bring it to new audiences and to a new generation.”

Olivier Fisch, Director of Eurosport Events, commented: “Eurosport Events has a rich history and deep experience of promoting four wheeled motorsport, with flagship series including the FIA World Touring Car Championship and FIA European Rally Championship. The Eurosport multi-media platforms will provide a home for the FIM EWC for the loyal and passionate fans of this exciting sport.”
