MotoGP Star Showing Support for the Troops.

Prior to the first U.S. MotoGP event at Circuit of the Americas, April 11th-13th, two-time World Superbike Champion, Colin Edwards II, will be attending the Fort Hood military base (in Killeen, Texas) on April 3rd, 2014. Along with Edwards, Race for the Wounded and the Texas Tornado Boot Camp will each be represented and showing their support for the troops.

Edwards II and company will be guided throughout the base to discuss motorcycle safety. In addition, Colin will meet wounded soldiers as well as active service men and women currently being deployed overseas.

“I have been to a few military bases around the world as a MotoGP rider… signed autographs, lunch, etc.,” says Edwards. “I’m really looking forward to visiting Ft. Hood as Texas Tornado Boot Camp owner and instructor. Having the chance to explain how we, at TTBC, can help our heroes become safer on the road is a step in the right direction; thanks to Ft. Hood for having us.”

Founder of Race for the Wounded, Brett Robinson (1SG Retired 82nd Airborne), will be accompanying Edwards and crew throughout the tour. “I’m honored to be invited to accompany Colin Edwards and Team TTBC at Ft. Hood next week,” says Robinson. “I, myself, am an avid motorcyclist and to talk motorcycle safety with the troops is fantastic. Colin and his Boot Camp crew are huge supporters of our military. It is very impressive to me how he dedicates so much of his time to this cause, even with his extremely busy MotoGP schedule.”

Race for the Wounded is a grassroots, nonprofit organization founded with the goal to support veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Race for the Wounded aids veterans in healing the wounds of war throughout hardcore off-road competition.
